When FCP was retained by the UK Government to review and re-scope the troubled West Coast Route Modernisation project, we were able to reduce capital cost from £13.5bn to £9.96bn, while still achieving key outcomes. We revised the workbank using Constructive Challenge Teams in each asset class and business integration workstreams, saving cost while ensuring the programme’s core functionality and outputs were maintained.

We also assisted Network Rail to overcome complex systems integration issues related to the introduction of new rolling stock onto the Great Western Railway under the InterCity Express Programme. Our solution kept program time and cost under control and ensured the October 2017 IEP timetable introduction proceeded.
